Design Phase—Compliance

During this phase, the building design and technologies to be included are developed and specified. Depending on the size of the project, one or more design professionals are likely to be on board and take the lead in this phase. As the building design takes shape and technologies are being identified and selected, in this phase you are likely to be considering performance, economics, and feasibility issues concurrently. Assuming that you have ensured or are in the process of ensuring that your project complies with all local zoning ordinances, the design phase is the time during which the most considerations related to elements of feasibility will come into play.
