Concrete Construction

More concrete is used than any other man-made material in the world, about seven billion cubic meters of concrete – more than one cubic meter for every person on Earth. Concrete is one of the most important construction materials. It is comparatively economical, easy to make, offers continuity and solidity, and will bond with other materials. In this course the student will understand essentially all aspects of concrete construction including characteristics, mix design, formwork, joints, placement, finishing, and pre-cast.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CEU?

A CEU is a continuing education unit. It is also used by cosmetology continuing education such as this site. This is used as a measurement, consisting of 10 hours, in which a licensed individual, seeking to continue their education, completes in order to maintain his or her state issued license. We specialize in CEU for Professional Engineers, which can be completed with our online engineering courses.

What are CEUs?

A CEUs is continuing education units. CEUs are multiple units of education continuation to enable a individual to maintain their license. There are multiple methods of obtaining CEUs, depending on the state/providence, Please reference our state requirements page for more information. Also, a search online can also be useful: for example try searching online for “online engineering courses”, “free engineering courses”, “seminars”, and many others to see detailed on information on CEUs.

What is a CPE?

CPE is continuing professional education and is the usual term for continuing education for accounting. Please reference EZ-cpe.com to learn more about this.

What is a PDH?

PDH means “Professional Development Hour” and/or sometimes “Professional Development Units”. It is defined by one contact hour of instruction, presentation, or study. For example, a interactive course on engineering can only have a certain amount of PDH’s for one course or seminar. During a course the maximum amount of PDH is eight with a hour lunch break in between. Engineering PDH courses are most commonly used by licensed professional engineers, surveyors, architects, and geologists for continued education courses to fulfill licensing requirements.

What is a professional engineer?

In order to be called a professional engineer, or PE, an individual is required to be certified by a state board to practice engineering in any number of a variety of fields of engineering. A PE certification shows that the engineer performs at a high superior standard and it is a symbol of high achievement. This also assures the public (people) the licensee is able to operate at a higher standard than a non-licensed engineer. A PE license allows the engineer to sign-off and approve various types of design projects which may concern the public safety. For example: Building designs, Bridge designs, Structural modifications, HVAC plans, etc. Our Online PE courses will teach those types of courses so the PE licensee meets their state board continuing education requirements.

What is engineering PDH?

This term refers to the amount of time that an engineer will spend on a course in a seminar. This pretty much means that you are learning from a teacher. If someone was to take an online engineering course they would have a certain amount of PDH, or “Professional Development Hours,” in order to show the amount of time that the individual took to take the course.
